From 52797cf52ffa16beffd8f0e244402631435534e6 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Kara Zajac Date: Wed, 15 Jul 2026 18:16:53 -0400 Subject: [PATCH] README: drop the 'like OVERWATCH' privacy claim MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit VIGIL is fully offline (no INTERNET permission), but OVERWATCH reaches out for Waze/Citizen/DeFlock data — so equating the two on privacy was inaccurate. Header now states VIGIL's actual property ('fully offline'); the OVERWATCH spatial/temporal framing and code-reuse mentions are unchanged (those are accurate).
